So new site and (check me out) I’m actually writing news.

As its the first one of these I’ve written, I should start out by explaining my back story, my ‘how come I make pots’ story. But i’m not going to. I’ll save that for winter when you might have the time to sit and read.

August is definitely not one of those months. So instead whats happening?

New site…ta-da….

New logo…

New stationary…..

When I started up this little business, I did my own. My own business cards, logo and even website. And I was never happy. It all felt a bit ‘home-made’. I’m delighted with it now, looks more professional and joined-up.

August is busy. I have the Vale Agricultural show on the 9th, in Cowbridge, which I’m very excited (and a lot nervous) about. I used to go to County shows all the time when I was growing up. I even used to enter the wild flower arrangement competition. When I tell you I picked flowers from the hedgerow and stuck them in a vase and hoped for the best, I would not be lying. I even managed to get Highly commended once or twice (there were like 2 other entrants!). But seeing all the animals, the machinery (I grew up on a farm…), the cakes, the ice-creams, the free pens (IYKYK)….

And then, once the show is done and I have a little family holiday, believe it or not, I will be working toward December like my life depends on it. Pottery is a slow process. Everything takes time to dry and fire and dry and fire. In winter, everything takes even longer to dry and nothing can be done until the clay has dried out 100%. So once August in done and school returns, it will be head down, clay everywhere and fingers crossed for a late summer.
